Corporate responsibility.

Doing good is built into the way we do business. As a Certified B Corporation, we’re committed to using our platform to drive positive impact, not just for our clients but for our communities, our suppliers, and the planet.

Our approach to corporate responsibility includes meaningful community partnerships, employee volunteerism, and ongoing fundraising initiatives that support causes close to our hearts.

We believe in building strong, transparent relationships throughout our supply chain, and we hold ourselves and our partners to high standards of ethical and sustainable practice. Because when it comes to making merch, we believe how it’s made – and who it helps – matters.

Supply chain.

We require all of our suppliers to sign our Supplier Code of Conduct, complete our Prominate survey, and/or provide their own documentation that provides information on their anti-forced labour practices and responsible supply chain standards.

Supplier diversity.

Championing supplier diversity allows us to support underrepresented entrepreneurs, drive innovation, and deliver more inclusive solutions to our clients.

We track and report spend with women-owned, Indigenous-owned, and other equity-seeking businesses. To that end, we are proud corporate members of CAMSC and WBE Canada.

End of product life solutions.

We take great care to minimize errors and reduce waste throughout our entire process, but we recognize that sometimes merchandise may no longer be needed. When that happens, we work closely with our clients to find the most responsible solution and prioritize diverting items from the landfill whenever possible. In Canada, we partner with Brands for Canada to donate, debrand, or downcycle unwanted merchandise. For apparel items in the U.S., we collaborate with Everywhere Apparel, a circular solutions provider that can recycle or downcycle garments based on their material makeup.

Brands for Canada.

Brands for Canada is a Toronto-based nonprofit dedicated to ensuring that Canadians living below the poverty line have access to quality clothing, basic essentials, and training programs that help remove barriers to employment. Their programs support sustainable fashion and social impact by turning excess inventory into opportunities for those in need.

As part of this partnership, we donated 500 custom patches to pilot a creative rebranding method that transforms and elevates pre-loved garments. For inventory that has reached the end of its usable life, we work with BFC to debrand items and either repurpose them through their donation network or downcycle the materials into concrete composite.

Excess blank apparel is directed to BFC’s Employment Opportunities Program, which supports jobseekers with access to professional clothing, training, and confidence-building resources to help them re-enter the workforce.

“We are so grateful to Genumark for their generous donation of patches to be used on items that we debrand. These patches take the items to the next level and the feedback from the recipients has been incredible!”

Second Harvest.

We’re proud to support Second Harvest, Canada’s largest food rescue organization and a global thought leader on food loss and waste. Second Harvest works to recover surplus food from across the supply chain and redistribute it to charities, non-profits, and community groups that feed people in need. Their mission is simple but powerful: no waste, no hunger.

As part of our ongoing partnership, the Genumark team participates in two food sort events each year. To date, we’ve sorted over 5,044 lbs of carrots and onions, helping ensure nutritious food makes it to the tables of those who need it most.

We also donate in-kind merchandise and offer a year-round discount to the Second Harvest team to support their incredible volunteers and fundraising efforts. Together, we’re working toward a more sustainable and equitable food system.

Rainbow Railroad.

Every year from May through July, Genumark donates 5% of all Pride-related orders to Rainbow Railroad, a nonprofit organization that helps 2SLGBTQ+ individuals around the world escape violence and persecution. Their work includes providing emergency travel, resettlement assistance, and ongoing advocacy to ensure that everyone has the right to live safely and openly—no matter where they’re from.

We believe that Pride merchandise should do more than celebrate, it should give back. Every order during this period helps support meaningful, life-saving change for the global 2SLGBTQ+ community.

Volunteer policy.

Genumark has a robust Volunteer Policy where any employee can take up to 30 hours (4 days) of paid volunteer time per calendar year. That way, Genumarkers can choose organizations in their own community that resonate with them and volunteer more regularly.

“We had a very productive and fun day with the wonderful staff at Genumark. They debranded 400 pieces in just three hours! This is an invaluable help to our programs and ensures that these top-quality items end up in the hands of those who need them the most.”

Our team is committed to learning and growing within sustainability. We create resources for our sales reps and clients every year in order to understand responsible sourcing on a deeper level.
