ABOUT THE RAINBOW RAILROAD
Rainbow Railroad is a global not-for-profit organization that helps LGBTQI+ people facing persecution based on their sexual orientation, gender identity and sex characteristics. In a time when there are more displaced people than ever before, LGBTQI+ people are uniquely vulnerable due to systemic, state-enabled homophobia and transphobia. These factors either displace them in their own country or prevent them from escaping harm.
Rainbow Railroad helps LGBTQI+ individuals be able to access lives free from persecution. So far, the Rainbow Railroad has helped over 3,100 LGBTQI+ individuals find safety through emergency relocation and other forms of assistance.
MEET THE ARTIST
Andy Silver is a queer, multi-media artist from Hamilton, Ontario. Drawn to creativity, her creative practice has evolved from musician, to visual artist and tattooist.
She is a big supporter of the Rainbow Railroad, as well as organizations that support neurological health, which in part inspired her artistic platform, Shake Hands Co.
