Family Insurance Solutions Charity Golf Tournament

Genumark’s Brenda Kuepfer is a proud sponsor of the Family Insurance Solutions Charity Golf Tournament.

To date Family Insurance Solutions Inc. have raised over $280,000 for charity organizations. This year they aim to top $300,000 which we are sure they will achieve!

So far the money that has been donated to UNICEF has funded the infrastructure of a pediatric HIV/AIDS medical facility in Mozambique and provided relief to the citizens of Haiti after the earthquake.

Since 2010, in addition to continuing to support UNICEF, Family has chosen to focus its attention on children closer to home – Boys & Girls Clubs within the province of British Columbia.

The Boys & Girls Clubs have been in existence for over 75 years providing programs that promote the physical, educational and social development of children and youth. They offer substance abuse counseling programs, parent support groups and Camp Potlatch on Howe Sound. All of these services are designed to help children and youth achieve their full positive potential to become contributing community members.

Rain or Shine! Nine, Wine & Dine!

The Globe and Mail Invitational 2011 – Nine, Wine & Dine that took place on July 14th is one of Vancouver’s premier charity golf tournaments. The event was hosted at the spectacular setting of Westwood Plateau Golf & Country Club.

Despite the very wet rain everyone invloved put on a smile and pulled together to support The Children’s Arts Umbrella Foundation. Thier goal is to help inspire kids for life through the arts.

Marie Clark (Event Commitee Member) & Elaine Hunter took part on behalf of Genumark in an event that exceeded expectations and raised over $100,000 in net profits!

The reason the event did so well was due to the amazing items in the live auction which included two backstage meet & greet tickets with Sarah McLachlan, a fully catered private dinner party courtesy of the new Edible Canada shop on Granville Island and a one hour flight in a fighter jet!

Kudos to the many sponsors that helped make the Globe and Mail Invitational 2011 – Nine, Wine & Dine possible.

Golf Where The Pros Play!

The Golf Association of Ontario held it’s second of ten Member Championship event at the historic Scarborough Golf & Country Club. Scarborough Golf & Country Club is one of Canada’s top private facilities and has a rich history dating back 1912. The course was redesigned in 1924 by famed NY architect A.W. Tillinghast who has designed the famous US Open courses Winged Foot and Baltusrol and has hosted some of Canada’s most prestigious championships.

Genumark’s Randy Freedman is the title sponsor for all ten of the one day Member Championship events. These events are extremely popular for male and female golfers of all ages as they give any member of the Golf Association of Ontario the opportunity to test their skills on elite private golf courses that they would otherwise not have an opportunity to play – such as Scarborough. Randy’s sponsorship guarantees that in addition to a championship round of golf, electric cart, and at least one meal, the players will also be competing for a very generous prize table at each event.

Despite the rain, over 70 golfers attended the event, including from Genumark – Randy Freedman, Ken Dumond, Murray Sobko and Steve Share.

When asked why he has taken on the role of Title Sponsor for these events, Freedman answered “I am big strong supporter of Amateur Golf. Personally I was fortunate enough to play my junior golf at the #1 golf club in Canada – St. George’s – as a sponsored junior. I parlayed this experience into an NCAA Division 1 Golf scholarship and received 2 additional scholarships from the Canadian Golf Foundation. If it were not for the one day golf tournaments put on by Golf Association of Ontario I would not have had the opportunity to compete and win the necessary tournaments to capture the attention of the US University Golf Coaches. I guess you can say that this is my way of giving back. It’s my opportunity to help promote the game of golf and to give similar experiences to those that I was fortunate enough to have received in the past.”

The next One Day Championship event is being held June 13 at the beautiful Georgian Bay Resort in Clarksburg, Ontario.  For a full schedule of the GAO One Day Member events, please click here.
