The Genumark Forest

You might not realize it but the orders you place with Genumark are now making a difference to the environment!

Steve Share from our Toronto office came up with the idea to donate 5 trees for every order over $1,000. Like his namesake he shared the idea with Genumarkers across Canada. Now the plan is to plant as many trees as we can nation wide to create a Genumark forest! Each Account manager can choose how many trees they want to donate!

The aim is to donate 5,000 trees and create a Genumark Forest! We will be using various organizations throughout Canada to plant the trees. In Toronto we are working closely with Trees Ontario but other offices will be selecting a local tree organization.

Genumark President & CEO, Mark Freed has kicked off the quest for a Genumark Forest by donating 1,000 trees! We will be keeping count of how many have been donated on our Genumark Forest page! To see how many we have so far click here. Also if we are connected with you on social media we will be sure to send out an update on how many trees your orders have generated! Search for the hashtag #genumarkforest for updates.

Careful, you’re extremely hot!

Kari Watson from our Toronto office had a lovely Valentine’s experience today! This is what happened:

“I went to Starbucks this morning after having three horrendous orders got messed up at another coffee shop we will not mention earlier this week.

Starbucks has won me for life, not based on their product or their pricing but on their customer service.

The girl who took my order asked me “What do you feel like today”, not “what do you want” or “what can I get you”. She promptly asked me my name, and how to spell it. She then asked me “Do you see anything else you might like to try today” not “anything else” and not with the “do you want fries with that” attitude. So I thought I would order some coffee cake. She proceeded to tell me that “Wilson will take care of me next” so I paid, and tipped the Baristas. As I was waiting for the coffee, the third barista who was preparing it, started up a conversation with “Good morning”. Simple, easy enough to answer with a smile and a natural “Hi, how are you?”. Small talk continued about where I work in the area, as he was multi tasking very well. He handed me my coffee and I left with a VERY good taste in my mouth about my decision to come here today.

As I was walking into the office I noticed these red lines around my coffee cup – noting also that my name was written in red, I looked a little more carefully and noticed what you see in the image above!

Regardless of who I was, what I do or where I was going – Starbucks managed to make a point of making it a great day. I don’t even care if he did this to every girl who walked into that Starbucks; it makes a statement to be different.”

Happy Valentine’s Day everyone!

It’s a Hat Trick! We Did It Again!

WOW! What a week!

Last week Genumarkers from across the country reunited for the annual PPPC National Show. Genumark President & CEO, Mark Freed had an unbelievable night at the PPPC Image Awards that began with him receiving the PPPC Humanitarian Award. The night only got better from there! Here are some words from the man himself Mr Mark Freed:

“The national show in Toronto was another fabulous week for the Canadian promotional products industry. Although total sales of branded corporate merchandise in Canada is in the billions of dollars, we are an incredibly tight knit group. It is astounding how many long standing, genuine and friendly relationships that we share with our industry suppliers and co-distributors. It was great to see old friends and meet new ones, not to mention to see all of the dynamic and interesting products that were introduced at the show. Innovative leadership, fantastic companies, compelling products….I am glad to see that the state of “3 dimensional” branded merchandise in Canada is strong and growing stronger.

It was also a wonderful week for Genumark. We practice what we preach as our Genumark varsity jackets were a huge hit. We also were the recipient of several industry awards including the most prestigious distributor award as the National Distributor of the Year for the third year in a row.  That’s’ a huge honour and a credit to our entire team. Thank you Canadian suppliers.  Of course the best part of the week, is just catching up and spending time with Genumarkers from all of our offices across the country. It is the only time of the year when we can all be in one location and that in itself makes our week impactful and memorable.”
