Time to support David Lewenberg’s fight against Alzheimer’s

David has participated in the Scotiabank Pro Am for Alzheimer’s event for numerous years and has raised in excess of $55,000 so far! These funds go towards Baycrest who are the global leader in developing and providing innovations in aging and brain health.

Here are a few words from David Lewenberg himself:

“I have always thought Baycrest was a world class facility. However on January 2,2013 my perspective changed. My dad was accepted as a full time resident of Baycrest and our family found out first-hand how wonderful this place really is. The intake process, the assessment and the treatment of my Dad and Mom  has left me speechless. The staff, the programs and their understanding of how this has changed everything in my parents’ life is beyond words. They are professionals and more importantly a caring and companionate group of wonderful people. They have helped my Mom adjust away from being the primary caregiver to being a part of the support group. I am so proud to say that all of us play a small part in helping these wonderful people help so many families cope with the terrible effects of Al. Your support is very much appreciated.”

Love Her Toronto

Genumark is thrilled to be an in-kind sponsor for the LOVE HER event in support of Ovarian Cancer Canada taking place on February 28th at Corus Quay in Toronto.

It will be a memorable evening to honour the women in your life in support of Ovarian Cancer Canada, the only national charity dedicated solely to overcoming ovarian cancer.

LOVE HER will raise awareness of ovarian cancer, the most fatal women’s cancer. Ovarian cancer is unjust; there is no screening test, significant misperceptions and little funding. With the funds raised at LOVE HER, Ovarian Cancer Canada will be able to reduce the burden of this disease on the 17,000 Canadian women living with ovarian cancer.

The nights entertainment will include a fashion show, live music and a silent auction! For more details click the links below:

Jake’s Gigantic Give

Jacob’s Ladder, The Canadian Foundation for the Control of Neurodegenerative Disease is a charitable organization founded in 1998, which aims to benefit children like Jacob Schwartz and reduce the occurrences of neurodegenerative disease in the future. A group of dedicated business and community leaders, doctors, researchers and concerned parents came together to form this organization. Genumarkers Aaron Greenberg and Mark Freed have known Jacob’s parents for many years and they have contributed to the events for some time.

After the hugely successful Jake’s Gigantic Give event that took place on November 24 and 25 this message was posted from Jacob and his family:

Alone we can do so little, together we can so much! Helen Keller

We think Jacob would say the same thing….Look what we did together! Hundreds came to discover magic PURE MAGIC. All of you helped in your own unique and powerful way. Thousands of gifts were given away to those who need them the most. Hundreds of teenagers were role models leading youngsters on a mission of kindness.  This weekend showcased the contagious and heartfelt power that we all have in us to give unconditionally and unselfishly.

Look what people are saying….

“My  kids learned a valuable lesson about giving to others. “
“Incredibly Inspiring.”
“Maddy went to bed in her angel shirt as she said it made her “feel good.”
“Jack felt so proud of himself and his brothers for donating gifts to others.  As he was going to bed tonight, Jack said that he was proud of his little brothers for doing a mitzvah – I think that is pretty special coming from a four year old boy.”

Thank you, all of you for being part of the Jacob’s Ladder family. As we take a moment to pause and reflect, an overwhelming feeling of calm and comfort takes over as we are completely humbled by this community. At first you were there for us, now all of us are there for so many others.

From everything we have in us, we wish to thank all of you for helping to drive this vision. From our family to yours – Look what we have ALL DONE TOGETHER!

With Love and great appreciation,

Jacob and his family

P.S. At Jake’s Gigantic Give YOU gave big!! Xo

Family Insurance Solutions Charity Golf Tournament

Genumark’s Brenda Kuepfer is a proud sponsor of the Family Insurance Solutions Charity Golf Tournament.

To date Family Insurance Solutions Inc. have raised over $280,000 for charity organizations. This year they aim to top $300,000 which we are sure they will achieve!

So far the money that has been donated to UNICEF has funded the infrastructure of a pediatric HIV/AIDS medical facility in Mozambique and provided relief to the citizens of Haiti after the earthquake.

Since 2010, in addition to continuing to support UNICEF, Family has chosen to focus its attention on children closer to home – Boys & Girls Clubs within the province of British Columbia.

The Boys & Girls Clubs have been in existence for over 75 years providing programs that promote the physical, educational and social development of children and youth. They offer substance abuse counseling programs, parent support groups and Camp Potlatch on Howe Sound. All of these services are designed to help children and youth achieve their full positive potential to become contributing community members.
